Introducing its new bike in Indian marketing, Yamaha Motor India has launched the all-new version of Yamaha MT-O9 in India. The bike carries a price tag of Rs. 10.88 lakh which is the ex-showroom price. As per the report, the 2018 model will be imported as Completely Built Unit (CBU). But the important thing is the bike has been priced cheaper than its outgoing model.
To keep the MT-09 as light, slim and compact as possible it comes with CF aluminum die-cast frame. Its low weight and excellent rigidity balance contribute towards the bike’s agile handling performance and help to keep the overall wet weight down to just 193kg.
The turn signals have been repositioned lower beside the radiator, and the headlight leaning away from the forks further enhances the aggressive leaping stance of this new-age roadster. Moreover, inspired by its elder brother MT10, the aggressive twin-eye headlamp is neatly spread across the front forks with 4 LED lamps. These are underlined by sleek and edgy auxiliary LED strips that give its face the MT10’s famous angry look.
The new side-fins are fitted to the radiator and together with large air scoops mounted on the beefy tank reinforce the MT09’s brutal good looks and make the MT09A a compact, mechanical beauty. The four LED lights positioned behind the lens shine in a streak giving a “floating” impression to this monster’s tail.
The advanced design makes it double up as the license plate holder and accentuates the super-agile image of this naked roadster. This is the first Yamaha motorcycle to ever use this rear fender design.
The MT-09 is equipped with a Traction Control System featuring two different modes as well as an off switch. Mode 1 gives minimum intervention, and mode 2 offers maximum intervention, allowing you to adjust or turn off the TCS to suit different conditions and riding styles.
