DSK Benelli is now planning to bring its neo-retro designed bikes named as the Leoncino to India. As per the report, the company will launch the bike in February 2018. Earlier, the company stated that the bike would be launched in 2017, but it is not possible for now as the bike is now undergoing endurance testing after that it will get its ARAI certification. The test will be completed by January 2018, and during that time only it will get the ARAI certificate.
Recently, the Leoncino in road test successfully conducted in the country and the company says this is the only version which will hit the Indian market. To make it as a CKD unit, its assembling process will be carried on in the India which will help the company to give a price tag to the bike which will be lower than the Harley-Davidson Street 750. The Street 750 priced at Rs. 5.14 lakh.
As per the company, the bike’s off-road version currently is not being developed for India, but if it gets more demand in future, it will be launched in India.
Now coming to its features, it carries a 499.6cc engine with liquid-cooling and fuel-injected technology. With the engine, the bike can deliver 49.6hp at 8,500rpm and 45Nm at 5,000rpm. With wet-clutch, the bike comes with a 6-speed transmission. The Pirelli Angle ST tyres’ specifications will be 120/70 R17 up-front, 160/60 R17 at the rear. With standard ABS, at the front, the bike has 320mm twin disc setup with 4-piston calipers, and at the rear, it has a 260mm disc with a single-piston caliper.
The seat height is 785 mm, and the ground clearance will be 145mm. The Leoncino weighs around 207kg. It carries a fuel tank of 13.5 liters. With all these features, the bike may carry a price tag of Rs. 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom price).
