Honda Motorcycle and Scooter Pvt. Ltd (HMSI) announced the commencement of bookings for the all new 2018 Gold Wing at Rs 26.85 lakhs in the Ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2018 Honda Gold Wing was earlier showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show held in October.
The Honda 2018 Gold Wing comes with radical improvements in its engineering, handling, technology, comfort and performance. The all new Gold Wing features new technologies like the newly developed horizontally opposed 6 cylinder engine, 7-speed DCT and the company’s original double wishbone front suspension.
At the launch event, Yadvinder Sing Guleria, Senior Vice President- Sales and Marketing, HMSI said, “The 2018 Gold Wing was first showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show in November 2017 and Honda is today starting the bookings for this legend. The new generation Gold Wing gets a seven-speed DCT, revolutionary suspension setup, Apple CarPlay, HSTC and a brand new engine, making it a true rider’s motorcycle.”
The 2018 Gold Wing comes with die-cast aluminium beam frame which ensures enriched handling and smoother ride. The 2018 Gold Wing is powered by a 1,833cc engine. It comes with four valves per cylinder instead of two. The peak power arrives of 125bhp at 5,500rpm, with peak torque of 170Nm delivered at 4,500rpm.
The newly added feature of Throttle by Wire (TBW) adds 4 rider modes in order to prevent loss of grip in the rear wheel. Additionally, 2018 Gold Wing comes with brake force Stop and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) for an ultra-quiet start up. The Gold Wing also comes equipped with ABS and Dual-Combined Braking System to distribute the braking force optimally to the front and the rear wheels.
The 2018 Gold Wing is available in two variants- Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour in the new glossy Candy Ardent red color. Bookings for this bike can be done at Honda’s exclusive Wing world sales and service outlets in Delhi and Mumbai. The deliveries for the new 2018 Gold Wing will start from this New Year 2018 on first come first serve basis.
