Dominating the Indian automobile market, Maruti has ranked itself as the number one passenger vehicle company in October 2017. As per the report, the company has taken back the crown from its car, Maruti Dezire compact sedan.
As per the information, currently, around 50.12 percent of the passenger vehicle market has been captured by Maruti. With 16.44 percent Hyundai captured the second place. Apart from these two companies, other companies have not able to achieve the double-digit score, and they are ruling the automobile share market with single-digit scores. The selling list shows, Maruti has covered top four positions with its several models in the bestselling passenger vehicle list.
The all-new Dzire sedan was launched in May, and from that, it never saw any downfall in sales and whose sales have kept on accelerating. Now with that rising rate of sales, it has sold 17, 447 units combining the two variants, i.e., 8579 units diesel cars and 8868 units petrol cars.
The Maruti Alto again achieved top position by selling 19,447 units to post growth of 3.14 percent in October 2016 it was able to sell 18,854 units. Apart from this model, Maruti’s other five models that are managed to list themselves in the top 10 lists are the Baleno, Wagon R, Celerio, Swift and the Vitara Brezza. If combined the total sales of these seven model, the number of units sold is 100,419 units.
The Maruti Baleno has able to place itself in number three position in top ten passenger vehicle list with total sales of 14,532 units. In October 2016, it was able to sell only 10,718 units, and that time this model was listed in the seventh position. If compared with the sales, it has gained 35.58 percent growth. The reason behind this may be the car comes with value for money package and also comes with attractive design.
However, the list shows that Maruti has still that popularity which it had in the past and it is expected that in November also the company will be able to maintain the position.
