Yesterday, the leading mobile platform chipset maker Qualcomm launched it’s all new and powerful mobile platform, the Snapdragon 845 SoC. While launching, the company had informed that it would reveal full specifications of Snapdragon 845 in few days. Not taking much time, today the company announced the detailed specifications of its new SoC. As per the listing, the Snapdragon 845 SoC will support Octa-Core CPU. The clock speed will be 2.8GHz. The SoC will also support new upgraded GPU and Artificial Intelligence platform which is based on the Hexagon 685 DSP.
The Snapdragon 845 SoC is developed with the functionality and features that will allow users to do even more with their mobile devices. It supports Qualcomm Spectra 280 ISP which will give the high quality camera and XR experience, with the high-performance capture of up to 16 MP at 60 images per second. It comes with Qualcomm Adreno 630 Visual Processing Subsystem which includes GPU, VPU, and DPU. It will give 30% improvement in graphics/video rendering compared to the previous generation.
Its 3rd Generation Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP works like the AI processing which will deliver richer camera, voice, XR, and gaming experiences to the smartphone users. The SoC will also support Android 8.1 Oreo Neural Networks API. It works great in keyword detection and ultra-low-power voice processing.
The Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform has been designed for all-day battery life and comes with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology which can give up to a 50% charge in only 15 minutes. So that the users can now run most demanding applications all day.
It comes with the Snapdragon X20 LTE Modem. It can give up to 20% faster peak and real-world speeds compared to last generation X16 LTE modem. Now the users can get 1200Mbps downlinks. It also supports Bluetooth 5.
It may be noted that yesterday Xiaomi had announced that, the upcoming device of Xiaomi, i.e., Mi 7 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 845 SoC.
