It is now becoming petty obvious that the two-wheeler fans in India are growing day by day and now, the country can brace itself with another foreign motorcycle brand. The SWM Motorcycles, an Italian brand is the latest entrant in the list of companies that is planning to expand its motorcycle business in the country. SWM has tied up with Kinetic Engineering’s new entity MotorRoyale to sell its motorcycle in India. Reportedly, SWM plans to launch its first motorcycle in India in the early 2018.
A report in CarandBike suggests that SuperDual will be the first motorcycle from the company SWM in India. The SuperDual is an adventure motorcycle that is powered by a four-stroke, single cylinder 600 cc engine. The engine will produce 54bhp of power and 53.5 Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle will also me with feature like LED lights, Brembo callipers, optional hard luggage and Fast Ace forks. The motorcycle certainly promises to get a lot of booming adventure in the Indian market with its great features.
The SuperDual motorcycle is expected to be priced under Rs 6 lakh. The Kinetic Group Managing Director Ajinkya Firodia told CarandBike that the SWM SuperDual will be launched in India in the next three to four months.
“We intend to price the SWM SuperDual under ₹ 6 lakh, and have a lot of expectations from the SuperDual. We are almost ready to launch the SWM SuperDual, and it will be launched within the next 3-4 months. It’s an on-road, off-road motorcycle, and we expect it to be the biggest seller from MotoRoyale,” Firodia told Carandbike.
Though the SWM is not a well known band in India, but it has a colourful past with its roots back in the year 1970s where it began with manufacturing enduro, motocross and off-road motorcycles.
