Recently, Volvo launched its new SUV named Volvo XC60 in India. It seems that Volvo has another surprise for the people. As per the new report, the company is now planning to launch another new car under XC family. Well, the company has listed the new vehicle on Volvo India website and named as the Volvo XC40. As the vehicle has already listed on the website, it is now expected that Volvo may launch the car by mid of 2018.
Ian Kettle, lead exterior designer, has designed the exterior of the new Volo XC40. It carries youthful design combines with SUV proportions to create a car that makes a bold statement.
The Volvo XC40 has smart storage features including door bins large enough for laptops and handbags, and an ingenious foldout takeaway hook. There’s even a bin under the center armrest that will hold a full-size tissue box. There’s also a foldable, removable load floor and rear backrests that can be folded at the touch of a button.
The vehicle carries easy-to-use center touch screen to the high-resolution driver display and voice control that understands normal speech.

It is said that the XC40 Indian version will be available in a diesel and a turbocharged petrol engine. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine will give 188 BHP at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,500 rpm. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine will produce the power of 247 BHP at 5,500 rpm and 350 Nm at 1,800-4,800 rpm. Both the variant will carry an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Under the safety features, the car will come with ABS with EBD, airbags, radar-based safety systems like the new XC60 has, city safety, pilot assist, adaptive cruise control, various collision mitigation systems and blind spot information system (BLIS).
