Yamaha Launches It’s All New 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1; Check Out Price And Specs

India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd has recently launched it’s all-new sports bike the 2018 model of its YZF-R1 in India. The 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1 has priced at Rs 20.73 lakh which is ex-showroom price, and it will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in the country. The company has also informed about the bike through its official Twitter account and mentioned-

“Developed as a flagship model of the racing circuit with pure MotoGP blood.”

As per the company the new YZF-R1 model has developed as a flagship model of racing circuits with pure Moto GP concept. The bike comes with some new color variants like blue and black.

The Quick Shift System (QSS) of the bike has been upgraded.  With the upgraded QSS system the rider will get downshifts with minimal chassis disruption. The bike comes with the upgraded Lift Control System (LIF) which will now give extra progressive mapping.

Talking about its power, the 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1 will have the 998cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine and will produce 200PS of power.  The powerful and upgraded engine gives maximum power at 13,500rpm while the peak torque of 112.4Nm comes at 11,500rpm.

Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales, and Marketing, IYM, stated that the new 2018 YZF-R1 upgraded model would strengthen Yamaha’s superbike segment in the Indian market.

Roy Kurian stated, “It inherits its technology from Yamaha’s racing machine YZR-M1. This model also highlights Yamaha’s improved aerodynamics which posts it closer to the MotoGP attributes, and which is a rare potential available in today’s market. Yamaha plans to increase its market share in the supersport segment as the new YZF-R1 is expected to attract the younger racing enthusiasts.”

The design of the bike is based on Moto GP. It is said that the new 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1 will give a stiff competition to the Honda CBR 1000 RR, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R1000 and other sports bikes.
